April 23, 2008 - Premium UK-based health club operator, Esporta, has launched a new menu today focusing on healthy, organic eating with products sourced mainly from British farms with all the chicken farm assured, eggs being free range, and all the fish provided from sustainable sources.
Glenn Timms, Esporta's CEO, said: "We have made the decision to support British farmers by using British meat which also helps reduce the carbon footprint that is required in transporting food. Certain items on the menu are sourced from outside Britain, such as our Wild Alaskan Salmon, and Alaskan Pollock because they come from sustainable stocks, so with this new menu, we feel we are selecting the right ingredients for our members and the environment."
Esporta will also be supporting British farms by purchasing Wiltshire Ham from pigs that have been reared in the Britain, and Lockerbie Cheddar Cheese, which is produced in Scotland. "It is a common assumption that products such as Wiltshire Ham have come from Britain when in fact they've been produced outside the UK, so we are making a point of ensuing that all of ours are sourced locally," added Timms.
An extensive children's menu will give parents the chance to order a range of tasty meals in the Esporta clubs that are organic, low in sodium and with no artificial colours or additives, while appealing to young eyes and taste buds.
