Free Personal Training From Esporta

Date: 01 Nov, 2004

Hoping to stick to your resolutions this New Year?  Wondering how you can stay faithful to those promises of self-improvement?  Research carried out by premium health club operator, Esporta, reveals how you can strengthen that willpower and ensure you stand by your fitness plan beyond January.

If you sign up to a health club, and are keen to still be going six months later, Esporta recommend that you visit at least once a week in the first month.  Independent market research revealed that new members who visit less than once a week in their first month of membership have a 50% higher quit rate than those that visit once a week or more.

Furthermore, new members attending at least one fitness consultation during the first three months are 77% less likely to quit than those who attend none.

Esporta understands that this amount of gym activity is a big commitment so the fitness chain has taken on the responsibility of ensuring its members achieve their goals by using 'On Track', an induction programme which involves three one-to-one consultations in the first eight weeks of membership, at no extra cost.

This personalised programme can help members achieve their fitness goals and encourage more regular attendance.  A member will receive the first consultation within seven days of joining, the second will be between two to four weeks after joining and the last will be four to eight weeks after the join date.

Esporta's experience shows that these personal training sessions actually increases the number of times members will work out over the following months.  In fact, new members who attend three exercise consultations make almost three times more visits in the first three months than those people who don't attend any one-to-one sessions.

Commenting on the induction programme, Esporta's health and fitness manager Mark Talley said: "We aim to give our members that extra support in achieving their fitness goals, which is especially important as the new years' resolutions fade out.  These personal training sessions offer a very personal level of customer service and, as they are part of our standard membership package, there is no added cost."
